Life to the full can only be found in a relationship with God. I mean completely and fully with God, three in one. God the Father, over it all and working in it all, Jesus the Son, our redeeming love, and the Holy Spirit, our guarantee and intercessor, giving us power and strength to know and understand God and his love for us.
Read:
Ephesians 3:14-21
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we could ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Reflect:
Describe what you think living life to the full and reaching your greatest potential and purpose looks like.
Where do you go for advice when making decisions about your life and your future?
What kind of legacy or mark do you hope to leave on the world around you?
Remember:
Life to the full can only be found in a relationship with God. I mean completely and fully with God, three in one. God the Father, over it all and working in it all, Jesus the Son, our redeeming love, and the Holy Spirit, our guarantee and intercessor, giving us power and strength to know and understand God and his love for us. All three working together to fill us completely and give us new life in him, with purpose on purpose.
God, our Heavenly Father, is awesome in glory, power, strength, and most of all love. He is holy, above all things, creator of all things, purposeful in all things, and has the final word in all things. We all turn our back on Him and try to be our own God, doing things our way, that is sin, and it separates us from God forever.
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”
In God’s great love for us, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to make a way for us to be redeemed from our sin, and He has given us His Holy Spirit to live new life to the full in a personal relationship with him.
Romans 5:8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Who God is and what He has done for us should leave us in awe and humble surrender. “I bow my knees,” is really speaking of the posture our hearts should be in when we pray to our almighty God. Only if we surrender our will and ways to trust in Him completely with everyday of our lives, will we find true fulfillment in life.
On our own, we search for purpose in passing pleasure, popularity, power, possessions, and position but it all leads nowhere and we are left empty. But if we turn from our way and accept His free gift of forgiveness and salvation, He will take our empty and fill it up. He fills us with His Spirit, to live in us and give us strength and power in our weakness. His Spirit helps us to know and understand the love of Christ and we become more like Him through His strength and power. Knowing Him is life abundant and we will see God’s awesome purpose in our lives as we rest in His love.
God is love. His perfect love is what we doubt when we sin, and sin leads to works, that lead to nowhere but death and destruction. But God shows his love through Jesus, "the breadth (width) and length and height and depth, that surpasses all knowledge," we might think we have, and fills us with all the fullness of God. Resting in the fullness of that love does not mean we won’t have to work in life. It means we have full confidence with every step we take in our lives that God is in control, and His perfect love and purpose are guiding us to be exactly who He has created us to be.
The purpose and fullness in life come through our love relationship with him. God our Father, (over it all) is working in it all, Jesus his Son (as our way maker) through his love for us, over us, in us, saving us, and his Holy Spirit (within us as our guarantee) gives us His strength and power in our weaknesses, fills us completely as we walk with Him. And in this love relationship, through His power at work within us, He is “able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think.”
This is life to the full and true satisfaction!
Rest will never be found anywhere else.
Have you surrendered your life to Him and accepted His free gift of forgiveness and salvation? You can turn from your way and follow Him now to begin the greatest and most fulfilling journey in your relationship with Him, for all eternity. It’s not easy but it is full and overflowing. God will work in all things for your good and his glory, and that is a hope to hang onto no matter what circumstances surround you.
“Oh, Taste and see that the Lord is good.”
Psalm 34:8
